Kit Paulsen is an award-winning watercolorist from Washington County, Pennsylvania, whose works have been described as “expressive”, “brave” and “Hey, lady, what’s this supposed to be?”

After escaping a successful career in professional advertising, she became one of Pittsburgh’s most recognized painters. Kit is a member of the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society, Associated Artists of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Soociety of Illustrators and is a founding member ofWaterclors Gallery and the Pittsburgh Underwater Group. She takes pleasure in being active in the arts community and in the fact that her works are displayed in many galleries and homes. Kit has paintings

at World West Gallery in Washington, PA; the House of Two Sisters Gallery, in Sewickley, PA; and Xanadu

Gallery, in Scottsdale, AZ.

A Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Tennessee with a double major in both design and painting, Kit lives on a farm in Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands with her husband, two dogs and various wild creatures. It is a place of inspiration and endless subjects, many of which can be seen in her work.

“I love the process of putting down what I see, of finding the poetry of place,” says Kit. “My favorite creations are those which tell a story, making the viewer want to study them and enjoy his/her own interpretation.”
