It's so relaxing to paint something nonrepresentational...I am often too tied to detail, as in portraiture, where getting a likeness can be difficult. I could see this one in my head as I was splashing around with the colors; I wanted the sense of moving toward something in this painting, a feeling of anticipation of something wonderful. It is up to you, the viewer, to give it meaning through your own interpretation.
