My pal Jen Galvin (we just had a show together at Art First Gallery) took the shot that I used for reference for this painting at Virginia Beach; the beach is her happy place. We both did a painting from her gorgeous photo, which was lacking only in beachgoers. The perfect addition, in my mind, was two teenaged girls, jumping the incoming waves…and their parents, lazily keeping watch from their lounge chairs on the beach. It seems I need to tell a story, right?
